A Day In The Life Of Room 6

Laughter floats out from room 6, excitement is only the beginning.

These smart, intelligent and adorable kids have been studying ...KIWIS!
Not only have they been studying this fascinating creature. On Friday 24th of October they're hosting a bake sale, mufti day, and gold coin donation to raise money to help the little that's left of these endangered nocturnal species.

That was enough to blow me of my feet.

Look at this work of art we found in one of the many star students' books.

Stardome Adventure

On Monday Room 6, Room 28 and Room 29 went to the Stardome. When we walked in, there were planets on display. The biggest one was Jupiter. Next we walked into a big room. First it was light and then it got darker. Then we watched a little movie. The name was 'The little star that could'.

When he found an old star, the little star said "Do you have a name for me?"

The old star said "No, go away!"

When it was finished we went into another room. We saw some pictures of the Sun and the Moon. It looked like someone was holding the sun but he wasn't. When the sun was setting he was tall enough to put his hand around the sun. He was actually very far away. Then he showed a globe of earth. There was a little bulb inside it.

Folk Dancing

We are so excited to be doing a blog post on the Juniors doing folk dancing.

On the 25th of August  the Year 1's did some folk dancing and we asked them what they liked about it and things they wish they could change.

Of course they found it very exiting and said they were very talented at it.
The songs they danced to were 'Pop Goes the Weasel', 'Brown Girl in the Ring' and 'Jibbidy' including 'Follow the Leader'. But most surprisingly they knew it all themselves! They wore ribbons that hung from their wrists. The boys danced with the boys and the girls danced with the girls.Their favourite parts were star-jumps, hopping and skipping.

One of the favourite parts of 'Brown Girl in the Ring' was skipping round in a circle. WOW they must have been really dizzy. And to their surprise their parants came in and did the chicken dance with them. Here are some photos of the best moments...
